Greeley Freight Station Museum : A new indoor railroad museum under construction in Greeley, Colorado. It holds many artifacts including the last Colorado Southern wood caboose to operate and a 5500 square foot HO model train layout. The museum is not yet open to the general public, although special paid tours can be arranged. More information is available on the museum's web site: http://www.gfsm.org. Greeley Freight Station Museum Caboose Wash : On July 29, 2006,the Greeley Freight Station Museum volunteer staff rolled out C&S 10583 for a power wash in preparation for painting. Built in 1919 and retired in 1974, she is the last wood caboose to see service on the Colorado & Southern. All photos are copyrighted and may not be used for commercial purposes.

Mill Job : Reworking a Sherline model 2000 mill to facilitate horizontal operations on the end of AtlasO SW8/9/1200 metal body shells. Although these locomotives run fairly well, the detailing is rather poor and toy-like (the 3 rail heritage really shows on these 2-rail models.)

O-scale resistor wheel sets : The A&O 2.0 will require resistive wheel sets for CTC detection. Here are samples of making your own wheels in O-scale. I chose 7.5K ohms and two resistive sets per car for, one per truck, for more certain detection when wheels start to get dirty. MMR Doug Geiger uses a single 5K axle on his HO scale Granite Mountain cars. Conductive paint is GC Electronics 22-207 Nickel Print.

Proto 2000 decoder installs : DCC decoder installations in an ABBA set of HO-scale Proto 2000 F7s for the Greeley Freight Station Museum. Note that Walthers tooled the gear box covers a bit too large and it can hit the coupler pocket. The backs of the short Kadee couplers must be trimmed to avoid derailments.
