Bob > Rick and John opened the back door and started to move equipment out of the way so that the C&S caboose can come out. They seem to be wondering how far this baby will roll when shoved free.
Bob > This speeder under restoration rolled out easily.
Bob > Rick escorts it to a safe place beside the Greeley Tribune newsprint dock. This is all live rail on the Great Western Railway.
Bob > Next out the door - a late 1800's velocipede. Later in the day we held races on this machine.
Bob > The driving force behind the musuem, Dave Trussell, leads the velocipede carefully down the live rail.
Bob > There she is, C&S 10583, the last wood caboose to see service on the C&S-Burlington in Colorado. She received a severe shock to this end that bent the frame, ending her career. Museum volunteers prepare her for possible water leaks during power washing.
Bob > John Keyser ties a chain around an axle. He will pull it out of the museum building with his Bobcat. This will simplify both the pulling and regulating its roll downhill as the hand brakes are not connected. The left wheel is badly worn out.
Bob > John's Bobcat comes in and the blade meets the caboose coupler. The droop of the coupler and end platform really stands out.
Bob > Check contact with the coupler
