The last of Colorado steam by the late Bill Graves of Fort Collins, CO. ©2006-2012 Rick Inglis Collection.
Bill made these photos primarily along the Colorado & Southern, Great Western and Union Pacific railroads in 1956 and 1957, although specific dates were generally not recorded. When available, the caption is word-for-word what Bill wrote on the slide mount.
Scans and color restoration/interpretation by Bob Sobol using a Nikon Coolscan 9000 and Adobe Photoshop CS2. Color restoration is not an exact science.
The slide scan generally encompasses nearly the entire exposed area of film, which in most cases is larger than the area visible when the slide was projected. This is intentional and may assist in a forensic study to determine where and when a particular image was exposed.
Prints of these photos are for sale to defer the cost of making them available. The watermark at the bottom does not appear on prints. Original scans were made between 1000x1000 pixels and 4000x4000 pixels depending upon the resolution of the original slide. Also note that some of the photos have varying amounts of camera shake. Before purchasing a large print, inquire about viewing a full-resolution portion of the image(s) of interest. Email to riogrande491 atsign frii period com.
Note that due to a dramatic increase in Smugmug's photo hosting price, these photos will only remain available for a limited time, after which the gallery will be closed.
